Gota Patti Embroidery

Gota Patti is an intricate form of appliqué work which includes a ribbon which is either in silver or gold and is used to form several shapes and motifs before being stitched onto the fabric or piece of cloth. The base fabric used is generally lightweight chiffon, georgette, satin etc. This embroidery originated in Rajasthan and the craftsmen of Mewar, Udaipur, Ajmer and Kota produce glamorous designed outfits in the form of Saris, dupattas and lehengas.
