A typical house of the Nyishi tribe under construction. The Nyishi’s used to build this traditional kind of house with bamboo where 4-5 families live together. During the process of construction villagers extend their help to the owner for the construction of the house. In exchange of the labour and support provided by the villagers the owner treats them with locally prepared wine and pork.

The Tagins, a tribe of Arunachal Pradesh celebrating their festival. The Tagins one of the scheduled tribes of Arunachal Pradesh live in the District of upper Subansiri. Duporijo is the Headquarter of the district where numerous festivals of the Tagins are held during certain period of time. Chi Donyi festival is believed to be the Principal festival of the Tagins.

The Adi’s are the most progressive tribe of the State.

Dr. Dipen Kumar Bora, retired director of research of the state of Arunachal Pradesh, India is a well known figure in the field of Archaeology, Tribal Affairs and research. He did his PhD from Deccan College, Pune in Archaeology in the year 1976. He is continuing his work on folklore of Arunachal Pradesh and is also working in the topic Globalisation and its impact on the tribes of Arunachal Pradesh. His particular area of study under this topic are the Nyishi Tribes. He is also actively associated with the Indian Art History Congress (IAHC) and  presently holds the position of Joint Secretary in IAHC at Guwahati, Assam
